The Russian army seeks to cut an important route in Donetsk region
The Russian army broke through Kurakhiv reservoir in Donetsk region. This created a new threat for the Ukrainian group on this part of the front.

According to him, the breakthrough of the occupiers gives a chance to descend to the Zaporizhzhia-Donetsk highway, on which the city of Kurakhove is directly located. In addition, the enemy can rise from the south from Zelenivka to Ulakla.
Popovych notes that cutting the highway anywhere, even near Velika Novosilka, will mean the Russian army taking Ukrainian forces into operational encirclement.
