The submarine K-564 “Arkhangelsk” became the fourth ship of project 885M “Yasen-M”.
The new multi-purpose nuclear submarine Yasen-M has joined the Russian Navy. Russian propaganda media report this.
K-564 became the fourth ship of Project 885M Yasen-M and the third nuclear submarine named after the city of Arkhangelsk.
The submarine was laid down in March 2015. She was launched on November 29, 2023. On June 11 this year, the ship began factory sea trials.
“Arkhangelsk” is a multi-purpose submarine of the 4th (last for today) generation. The submarine has 10 torpedo tubes of 533 mm caliber. She also received 8 vertical missile silos, where Onyx, Caliber and Zircon missiles can be placed.
