The Russian ship Ursa Major, which was transporting military equipment, sank off the coast of Spain. It happened on December 23 after an explosion in the engine room of the ship, which caused it to capsize.

The Russian merchant ship Ursa Major sank in international waters between Aguilas and Oran (Algeria). The Maritime Rescue Service transported 14 crew members to the port of Cartagena. In total, there were 16 crew members on Ursa Major. Two sailors are missing.
According to the publication's sources, an explosion occurred on the ship at 12:30 p.m., which caused the area to be marked as dangerous for navigation until the arrival of a Russian warship to undertake the rescue.
