The Russian spacecraft brought a toxic smell to the ISS
The ISS crew was forced to put on protective equipment and launch an additional air purification program.
It was supposed to be a routine mission to deliver about three tons of food, fuel and other cargo to the International Space Station. But when the ISS crew opened the hatch of the cargo ship on Saturday, November 23, the astronauts were in for a surprise — a toxic smell.

“After opening the hatch of the Progress spacecraft, the Roskosmos cosmonauts smelled an unexpected odor and saw small droplets, which forced the crew to close the hatch,” NASA said in a statement published on Sunday, November 24.
