Ex-champion UFC in light heavy and heavy weight categories Daniel Cormier said that the Kazakh fighter Shavkat Rakhmonov went to fight against the Irishman Iana Machado Garry at the tournament UFC 310 with a rupture of the medial collateral ligament, reports Sports.kz.
“I found out later that (Shavkat) fought with an injury. Looks like he tore his MCL [медиальная коллатеральная связка — прим. Sports.kz] before this fight. With a torn ligament in your knee, you won’t look like the killer you looked like in previous fights,” Cormier said in a video on his YouTube channel.
On December 8 in Las Vegas (USA) in the co-main fight of the UFC 310 tournament, Shavkat Rakhmonov defeated Ian Machado Garry by unanimous decision – 48-47, 48-47, 48-47.
