The thief returned the stolen statue of Jesus with a note
The thief repented.
The police in the state of Colorado, USA, reported that the statue of Jesus, which was stolen from the nativity scene, was anonymously returned to the fire station with a note.
UPI writes about it.
The Fort Collins Police Department initially posted on social media that a baby Jesus statue had been stolen from a nativity scene in Old Town Square. Police shared surveillance footage showing the Grinch running away with the figurine.
The statue was anonymously dropped off at Fort Collins Fire Station 1 four days after the theft, the department said in a statement.
A note was taped to the statue's face that read: “I'm so sorry. I made a stupid mistake at that moment. It won't happen again.”
