Recruitment, signing of contracts and formation of the first Ukrainian unit began in November.
More than 1,000 people have already volunteered for the Ukrainian Legion, which is being formed on the territory of Poland, and submitted relevant applications.
This was reported by the Ambassador of Ukraine to Poland, Vasyl Bodnar, in an interview with “Suspilno”.
He noted that at the request of the Ministry of Defense, the exact number of applications is “closed information”.
“In general, we have more than a thousand applications, which are currently being considered by the relevant commission. We hope that this number will constantly grow,” said the Ukrainian diplomat.
