Famous Mexican heavyweight Georgie Villa (6-1, 5 KO) suffered an unexpected defeat at a boxing evening in Aguascalientes (capital of the state of the same name in west central Mexico), reports Sports.kz with reference to Obozrevatel.com.
The 10-round fight against compatriot Ubaldo Illagora (12-1, 11 KOs) ended early.
After a slow start to the fight, Ubaldo was able to pin his opponent near the ropes, working on the “floors.” Alternating blows to the body and to the head, Illagor unexpectedly threw a left hook, which completely cut down Villa.
The referee immediately indicated that the fight had been stopped, and the loser needed a chair to recover. The video can be viewed below.
