The United States welcomes consideration of the draft law on the completion of the Khmelnytsky NPP — Ukraine
US Ambassador to Ukraine (2003-2006) and Senior Director of the Eurasian Center of the Atlantic Council, John Herbst, said that the completion of the Khmelnytsky NPP will contribute to the development of Ukrainian-American cooperation in the field of atomic energy.
“As Moscow's air campaign against Ukraine's energy infrastructure continues, it is good to see that the Council is considering legislation to complete the construction of the Khmelnytsky NPP, which should be done in cooperation with American companies. This will contribute to the energy independence of Ukraine and further cooperation between the USA and Ukraine in the field of atomic energy,” the Ambassador wrote in his X.
This week, the Verkhovna Rada plans to consider the government's draft law on the completion of the construction of two power units of the Khmelnytsky NPP, which are 80% and 25% ready, respectively.
