A Republican-led US House committee examining broad aspects of the Covid-19 pandemic and its consequences has submitted its final report.
According to their conclusion, the virus most likely originated in a Chinese laboratory in Wuhan. Evidence of this is the biological characteristics of Covid-19 and the outbreak of the disease among researchers at the Wuhan Institute of Virology in the fall of 2019, CNN reports.
In addition, if evidence of the natural origin of the virus existed, it would already be known, the committee believes. At the same time, the publication notes that the search for animals infected with the ancestral virus is not a quick task:
