US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has confirmed that his country is handing over anti-personnel mines to Ukraine in connection with the change in tactics of the Russian army.

The Pentagon chief announced the transfer of anti-personnel mines to Ukraine during a speech to journalists on November 20 during his visit to Laos.
Austin said that Russian forces are currently leading the movement on the battlefield, so Ukraine “needs things that can help slow down that effort from the Russians.”
“We can control when they (mines – ed.) will self-activate, self-detonate, and this makes them much safer in the end,” the defense minister noted.
