The United States believes that the Azerbaijani Embraer 190 plane in Kazakhstan could have been shot down by a missile of the Russian air defense system.
This was announced by the coordinator of strategic communications of the US National Security Council, John Kirby.
“We have seen some initial indications that certainly point to the possibility that this aircraft was shot down by Russian air defense systems,” Kirby said.
It will be recalled that Azerbaijan Airlines announced the preliminary cause of the crash of the Embraer passenger plane on the Baku-Grozny flight, which crashed on December 25 in Kazakhstan after an incident in the sky over the Russian republic of Chechnya.
