The winner of the 2024 Olympics Kovtun commented on the information about the possible change of sports citizenship

Silver medalist of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris in gymnastics Ilya Kovtun reacted to information about possible change of sports citizenship.

In a comment to Tribuna.com, the 21-year-old Ukrainian gymnast refused to clarify the situation personally.

“For information, contact my personal trainer. Thank you,” said Kovtun.

Earlier it became known that Kovtun and his personal trainer Iryna Gorbacheva can change sports citizenship and start representing Croatia instead of Ukraine. According to Gorbacheva, the final decision will be made by the end of this year.

Let's add that Kovtun and Gorbacheva have been preparing for the competition in Croatia throughout 2024. The athlete did not return to Ukraine after the Olympics in Paris.
