The woman with the longest toenails in the world, Louise Hollis, has died


She set a record back in the early 90s.

In the USA, the record holder with the longest toenails, Louise Hollis from Compton, California, has died. She was 86 years old.

This was reported by the Guinness Book of Records.

Louise started growing her toenails in 1981. She was inspired to grow them out after seeing a television program about the longest nails.

When the record was measured in 1991, the combined length of all 10 toenails was 220.98 cm. The 2004 Guinness Book of World Records stated that each toenail was, on average, as long as the width of a page in the book itself. This was the longest length ever recorded for her toenails.

“They became so long that I could no longer walk without supporting my heel,” she said in 1999. “Last year I always let them grow longer. Next year…
