In the 1/4 finals in the weight category up to 71 kilograms, Akkalykov met with Temirkhan Tezek from the Turkestan region and defeated him by technical knockout in the third round. The referee knocked Tezek down twice in the first round and once in the third. After the one-sided beating continued, the fight was stopped.
Thus, Sabyrzhan Akkalykov reached the semi-finals of the Kazakhstan championship and secured at least a bronze medal. Let us add that Akkalykov is the 2021 world youth champion.
