Iceberg A23a is so huge that the British Antarctic Survey (BAS) calls it a “megaberg”: it weighs more than a trillion tons.
According to Forbes, after being stuck for a long time, the giant iceberg is now drifting in the Southern Ocean. Scientists and satellites are tracking the iceberg's movements to see how it might affect the ecosystems it interacts with.
Video has emerged showing views of the iceberg from ocean level and from satellites in space, in which A23a can be seen pirouettes and then finally drifting.
