Patients say they are grateful to the doctors for the rescue.

The world's leading surgeon Clemens Shistel, who helped save Ukrainian children with severe injuries, came to Ukraine. The doctor met with his patients and joined a conference attended by surgeons from seven countries.

TSN correspondent Marichka Kuzyk found out how the meetings went and why the number of burns in Ukraine is increasing.

2 years ago, Maxim became a patient of doctor Clemens after the fire. Due to the blackout, the boy was doing his homework by candlelight.

“My brother decided to blow it up and it turned out that the fire caught on his clothes,” says the boy's sister Tatiana Leskiv.

“He had flame burns, they very often cause deep burns. And he had them. They were burns on the chest, left upper limb with a transition to the left thigh,” says the head of the burn…
