There will be no days off in January: a tough decision on the New Year holidays

The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation announced significant changes to the schedule of holidays and weekends for the next two years. The purpose of these changes is to find a balance between work and leisure for citizens.

In 2025, Russians will have vacations from December 29, 2024 to January 8, 2025. This time will allow them to recuperate and prepare for the new working year.

The May holidays will be divided into two periods: from 1 to 4 May and from 8 to 11 May. This will allow us to celebrate Spring and Labor Day and Victory Day.

Here is the list of holidays for 2025:

January 1–7 — New Year holidays
February 22–23 — Defender of the Fatherland Day
March 8–9 — International Women's Day
May 1–4 — Spring and Labor Festival
May 8–11 — Victory Day
June 12–15 — Russia Day
November 2–4 — National Unity Day
