After the fall of the Assad regime in Syria, African juntas allied with Russia are worried that they will be abandoned to their fate in the same way as happened with the Syrian dictatorship. The French newspaper Le Monde writes about this.
The publication notes that Russia is now trying to negotiate with the new Syrian authorities on maintaining its bases in at least some form and at the same time transferring some of its property to Libya.
