More than half of Ukrainians continue to support the army financially, but more than a third have reduced their contributions compared to last year.
Donations from Ukrainians to the army have dropped amid the ongoing war. Volunteers complain that it is now much more difficult to meet the army’s needs.
According to Bloomberg, in 2022, Sergei Pritula’s charitable foundation raised funds in such volumes that they were even enough to purchase a satellite for the Ministry of Defense. This year, however, Prytula is seeing the opposite trend: Ukrainians have become more cautious about donations, due to economic difficulties and accumulated war fatigue. Pritula says:
