A meeting of the defense ministers of five NATO member countries took place in Berlin.

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius promised that European partners would strengthen military support for Ukraine.

According to Reuters, this statement was made after his meeting with colleagues from France, Great Britain, Italy and Poland in Berlin. The ministers discussed strengthening security in Europe following the return of newly elected US President Donald Trump to the White House.

Pistorius added that in January the NATO mission in Wiesbaden would take over coordinating Western military support for Ukraine. “Our goal should be to enable Ukraine to act from a position of strength,” he said.
