In the Kirov region, a case of giving false testimony in court was considered. The crime committed by a witness in another trial was reported to the regional prosecutor's office.

In the Kumensky district, a trial was held of a 33-year-old local resident suspected of assault. His younger brother was included in the trial as a witness. Answering questions from investigators and judges, he distorted his testimony, trying to take the blame on himself.

The court convicted the 31-year-old man of lying: the circumstances he spoke about were not confirmed. As a result, the witness received the status of a suspect in a new case of knowingly false testimony.
