Type 076 – China launched the first giant ship – UNIAN
According to experts, this is a complex universal landing ship – it has an electromagnetic catapult.
China launched the first universal landing ship (UDC) Type 076, intended for the Chinese Navy. This was reported by the Chinese state government agency Xinhua.
“The ceremony of launching and naming the ship, which was named after the province of Sichuan, took place on December 27 in the morning. The ship received tail number 51,” the statement says. In the video you can see the main design features of the ship.
Western experts note that the Type 076 is unlike any other amphibious assault ship in service or under construction anywhere at the moment.
