Ukraine can resume operation of one of the airports next year: conditions have been determined – UNIAN

The State Aviation Service is considering the possibility of a phased and limited opening of airspace for civil aviation.

Crispin Ellison, a senior partner at the insurance company Marsh McLennan, said that despite the war, Ukraine can open its first airport in Lviv next year and resume air traffic, Reuters reports.

According to the broker, Kyiv has been negotiating with European aviation authorities and airlines for almost a year about the resumption of some air travel.

“If regulators agree it is safe to reopen and a policy decision is made, the insurance industry will be prepared to support recovery efforts,” Ellison said, referring to 2025.
