Ukraine's accession to NATO is still on the agenda, but is not a priority aspiration. The focus now is on the issue of security guarantees.
This was stated by the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the United Nations Andriy Melnik in an interview with Berliner Morgenpost. According to the diplomat, an agreement on security guarantees for Ukraine should go beyond “purely political promises” like the 1994 Budapest Memorandum.
