If the European Union and the United States had agreed with Ukraine’s entry into the North Atlantic Alliance back in 2008, then Russia would not have attacked either in 2014, when it occupied part of Donbass and Crimea, or in 2022, says former Slovak Defense Minister Jaroslav Nagy.
