Ukrainian prisoners in Russia will receive parcels and letters from home – World
1,500 packages were handed over to Ukrainian prisoners of war and civilians illegally imprisoned in the Russian Federation.
With the assistance of the International Committee of the Red Cross, an exchange of parcels and letters for prisoners of war held in Russia and Ukraine took place on the territory of Belarus.
This was announced by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets.
“They handed over 1,500 packages with warm clothes and other necessary things,” he specified in the message.
In addition, the Ukrainian ombudsman handed over the lists of prisoners of war to Tatiana Moskalkova, the Russian commissioner for human rights, who was present at the meeting, and discussed the issue of their verification. The lists of illegally imprisoned Ukrainian civilians were also handed over to the Russian side.
