Ukrzaliznytsia detained a mafia leader nicknamed Dyed – BBC – Ukraine
A former official of “Ukrzaliznytsia” told the Ukrainian BBC that he previously passed on information about corruption to the company's managers, but there was no reaction.
During a special operation carried out in Kyiv and the Kyiv region by the National Police together with Ukrzaliznytsia, one of the high-ranking employees of this state-owned company, nicknamed “Dyed”, was detained. It seems that for many years he was engaged in extortion of UZ employees, in particular, he received bribes from conductors, heads of trains and repair crews.

“These extortions have been going on for decades, since the time of the Soviet Union, when the conductor had to bring a bribe to get on the flight.
