In the 1/4 finals in the weight category up to 92 kilograms, Togambay met with ethnic Kazakh Madiyar Saidrakhimov, representing Uzbekistan. The result of this fight was the victory of Sagyndyk Togambay by unanimous decision of the judges – 5:0. Also in the second round, the referee counted a knockdown on Saidrakhimov.
