In the quarterfinals of the weight category up to 48 kilograms, Tashkenbai’s opponent was Mekhron Shafiev from Tajikistan. In the second round, the representative of the Kazakhstan national team sent his opponent to a standing knockdown, and after three rounds the judges announced a verdict in favor of Sanzhar – a unanimous decision.

Sanjar Tashkenbai is the 2022 Asian champion and the 2023 world champion.
