Vilfand named the start date of the real winter

A sharp cold snap is expected in Central Russia, which will bring with it real winter weather. Scientific Director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia Roman Vilfand said that night temperatures in the region could drop to minus 9 degrees. During the day, the thermometer will show from minus 2 to minus 6 degrees.

Pressure and temperature

According to Vilfand, atmospheric pressure will increase significantly by the middle of the week, leading to lower temperatures. In Central Russia at night it is expected from minus 5 to minus 7 degrees, and in the region – up to minus 9 degrees. Daytime temperatures in the region will range from minus 2 to minus 4 degrees, and in some areas – up to minus 6 degrees.
