VTB has determined how much Russians will spend on New Year's gifts

A pre-New Year survey* by VTB showed that more than half of its participants are willing to spend up to 10 thousand rubles on gifts for relatives and friends. In general, respondents’ spending on New Year’s gifts did not change significantly compared to last year.

Almost a quarter of respondents (24%) will spend from 10 to 20 thousand rubles on New Year's gifts. In Moscow and the Moscow region there is a higher proportion of those who plan to buy gifts worth more than 20 thousand rubles (21% vs 14% for Russia as a whole). 4% of respondents do not plan to buy anything.

Expenses on gifts for family and friends, compared to 2023, either remained the same (32% of respondents stated this) or increased slightly (31%). 9% of respondents reported a significant increase in spending on New Year's gifts.
