War in Syria – Assad refused negotiations with Erdogan – UNIAN

Erdogan said that Türkiye is interested in de-escalating the conflict in Syria.

In Syria, rebels continue their offensive against the regime of dictator Bashar al-Assad. Amid the worsening situation in the country, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan tried to meet with the Syrian leader for negotiations, but did not receive a positive response, reports TRT Haber.

After Friday prayers, Erdogan answered questions from journalists. Some of them were related to the war in Syria.

“While this resistance continues there along with terrorist organizations, we (Turkish representatives) turned to Assad. We said: “let’s meet, let’s determine the future of Syria together.” Unfortunately, we could not get a positive response from Assad,” he said …
