European Commissioner for Defense and Space Andrius Kubilius said that EU member states will produce about 2 million artillery shells for the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2025
In a comment to hromadske, he said that now they produce only 20-25% of weapons, while the rest is purchased abroad. To increase production, orders from European governments are needed, which is currently in short supply. As Kubilius explained, without long-term contracts with arms manufacturers, one should not expect that Europe will produce more weapons and ammunition for Ukraine.
