The Russians are advancing on Kurakhovo to clear the way to the strategically important Pokrovsk.
The Ukrainian defense forces defending Kurakhovo recently successfully repelled one of the most powerful Russian attacks, inflicting heavy damage on the enemy. However, as Forbes analyst David Ax notes, such success should not be too encouraging for Ukraine.
So, on Tuesday, at least 14 Russian armored vehicles with infantry launched an attack on Kurakhovo. However, a few miles to the east, they encountered a wall of Ukrainian mines, cluster artillery, explosive first-person view drones and anti-tank missiles and were destroyed in the fire.
