As BILD analyst Julian Röpke reminds, Chasov Yar is located on a hill and is protected from the east by the Seversky Donets-Donbass water canal. Russian troops were unable to cross it for a long time.
However, now they have succeeded, and judging by the footage of street battles, the Russian Armed Forces have almost approached the Avangard stadium in the city center.
As Röpke notes, Russian troops were spotted for the first time in the center of Chasov Yar, and there were no visible Ukrainian soldiers around who were ready for battle.
