Military officer Bohdan Popelnukha, who at the age of 27 commands the 4th battalion of the 101st brigade, said that defense in the city largely depends on engineering training and Ukraine critically needs to strengthen the air defense system.
In an interview with Ukrayinska Pravda, he noted that his main priority as a commander is the lives of his personnel: never leave subordinates on the battlefield, always stick together.
“Another principle is that the infantry at the front line should always be in control of the situation. This is mandatory. There is no benefit from an infantryman who was sent to zero without an explanation of where the enemy is and what is happening there,” he emphasizes.
