Nehammer and Trump discussed the war in Ukraine during their conversation.
Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer held a 30-minute telephone conversation with newly elected US President Donald Trump, during which significant attention was paid to Russia's war in Ukraine.
“Trump asked me for an assessment because I was one of the few who met with Putin and Zelensky. He also shared his point of view with me. And after that we very quickly started talking about how important peace is and how important it is that war stopped,” Nehammer said in an interview with PULS 24.
Nehammer also suggested Austria as a possible place for negotiations in a conversation with Trump.
