The leader of Italy may discuss the idea of a new world order with the head of China, journalists have found out.
On Friday, November 8, Italian President Sergio Mattarella traveled to China, during which he met with Chinese leader Xi Jinping in Beijing.
It is expected that during a series of strategic discussions, the Italian leader will call on his Chinese counterpart to take an active position as a mediator in two major global conflicts – the war in Ukraine and increasing tensions in the Middle East, Euractiv writes, citing information from Corriere della Sera.
The journalists added that Mattarella in China intends to strengthen diplomatic ties and gain support for a joint approach to solving global problems.
