Ukrainian troops are trying to use the time before any major offensive to lay more mines and build new fortifications.
A battalion commander in Ukraine's 31st Brigade named Roman, stationed just south of the town of Orekhov in the Zaporozhye region, said Russia was launching an offensive from a variety of directions.
In his opinion, Russian President Vladimir Putin knows that negotiations can begin, and “as a result, he will have much more leverage if he controls this entire territory,” writes The Washington Post.
