We were left without a pension. Now millions of elderly residents of the country will be forced to work

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova announced an increase in the number of working people in the labor market, which is associated with an increase in the retirement age. As a result, the economy added about 2.7 million new jobs. According to her, about 60% of pensioners in Russia continue to work.

Golikova emphasized the importance of creating a training system for older people in order to effectively use their potential throughout their careers. She also noted that labor force participation among people aged 40 to 54 reached a record high of 93% by the end of 2024.

Let us recall that in 2019 Russia began a gradual increase in the retirement age by five years: to 65 years for men and to 60 years for women.
