what fines threaten Ukrainians — Ukraine
The legality of the Christmas tree can be checked through a special chip or barcode.
Buying a Christmas tree without documents confirming its legality can result in a fine from 510 to 1,700 hryvnias.
The press service of the State Environmental Inspection warns about this.
According to the report, by buying an illegal Christmas tree, Ukrainians violate environmental protection legislation and risk contributing to the illegal felling of trees.
Fines are provided for illegal actions:
- Violation of forest fund use: citizens – from 102 to 238 hryvnias, officials – from 170 to 272 hryvnias.
- Illegal felling of trees: citizens – from 510 to 1,020 hryvnias, officials – from 2,550 to 5,100 hryvnias.
- Sale and purchase of Christmas trees without documents: fine from 510 to 1,700 hryvnias with confiscation.
To avoid problems, it is important to check for a chip with a unique barcode on the slice…
