Cast iron pans are quite popular among many Ukrainians. Such dishes have many advantages, but they need to be handled correctly so that they last as long as possible.
Experts named the main mistakes that can ruin even the best cast iron cookware. But with proper care, such pans will last for more than one generation.
First of all, you should remember that cast iron cookware does not have a protective coating. And this means that it must be constantly wiped dry so that rust does not form. Some even recommend drying such pans on fire for 2-3 minutes.
If you rarely use cast iron cookware, coat the dry surface with a thin layer of oil. Dip a paper towel in the oil, wipe the surface of the pan, and then wipe dry with a clean towel to keep the oil layer to a minimum.
