The commission of the Verkhovna Rada established that men aged 55-60 can be recognized as fit for military service only under certain restrictions.
People's deputy from the “Servant of the People” party, Yuliya Yatsyk, reported this, Focus writes.
She cited examples when even people with disabilities from childhood were recognized as fit for service. At the same time, according to her, the situation with men 55+ is more understandable, since their state of health often does not allow them to perform military tasks on the front lines, but they can hold positions in the rear.
Jatsyk noted that it was for this reason that it was proposed to lower the age limit, allowing men aged 55+ to serve exclusively at their own will.
