The third year of the war has been difficult for Ukrainians psychologically, but the people maintain an amazing level of optimism. Sociologists familiar with public opinion poll data told DW about this.
According to various polls, from 83 to 88 percent of Ukrainians still believe in victory. But pessimism is also becoming noticeable. Against this background, the idea of negotiations with Russia is gaining increasing acceptance. If a year ago a third of the population was categorically against it, now only 12% are, according to an Info Sapiens study conducted in November commissioned by the New Europe center.
