When the war ends, how many refugees will return to Ukraine?
If there are the promised investments, more people will return, the expert noted.
The number of Ukrainians who will return from abroad after the end of the war will depend on the scenario in which it ends. This opinion was expressed by a senior researcher at the Institute of Demography and Social Research named after M.V. Ptuhi, candidate of economic sciences Alexey Poznyak in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.
“If it’s just a freeze without serious guarantees of non-continuation, that’s one thing. If there really are serious guarantees, if there is a return of at least part of the territory that Russia occupied, it will be a different situation. We can say that about half can return, and about half will not return,” he noted.
