During general mobilization, men of military age may receive a deferment from conscription due to the fact that they are caring for a person with a disability. Who exactly has this right, Daniil Goncharenko, a lawyer from the military law practice of Prikhodko and Partners Law Firm, told RBC-Ukraine.

He noted that receiving a deferment from mobilization is a right, not an obligation. In addition, if a person is caring for a relative and has the right to a deferment, but has not formalized it at the territorial recruitment and social support center (TCC and SP), he may be subject to mobilization, he explained.
