WBO/IBF world middleweight champion from Kazakhstan Zhanibek Alimkhanuly caused a mixed reaction to his statement about his readiness to fight with the owner of three titles in the second middle category Saul “Canelo” Alvarezreports Sports.kz.
The day before, Zhanibek published an appeal to Canelo on the social network X, inviting the Mexican star to share the ring: “I think that only Canelo has the courage to fight me! Canelo, let's fight in February! The champions in my division are afraid to fight! Let's show the world good boxing!”
The “Kazakh Style” post was commented on by Cuban boxing coach Yerandi Cabrera, who pointed out Alimkhanuly’s low level of popularity in the United States: “Who’s going to tell him that no one wants to fight him because he can’t even sell out a living room with ten chairs?”
