Many foreigners want to see the horrors of the war in Ukraine with their own eyes, but not everyone finds this idea morally appropriate.

So-called war tourists are increasingly traveling to Ukraine to see with their own eyes the destruction resulting from Russia's war of aggression. However, tours to war zones such as Irpen or Kharkov, sometimes called “black tourism”, also raise ethical questions.

According to the Swiss publication Sarganserländer, “military tours” to Ukraine are offered by about a dozen Ukrainian companies. Excursions mainly focus on Kyiv and its suburbs, and their cost ranges from 150 to 250 euros.
