“Among the reasons is the lack of spare parts and trained Ukrainian pilots, as well as delays in the delivery of replacement F-35s to Belgium itself,” the report says.
In particular, Belgian Defense Minister Ludivine Dedonder recently visited Poland, where she got acquainted with the operations of the Belgian army for 2025. As a result, it became clear that the first delivery of F-16 fighter-bombers cannot take place this year.
“Belgium will do everything possible to accelerate the first delivery, if possible, by the end of 2024,” the text says.
